Description & Background:

Currently, the Online Backup Manager does not support backing up Windows Encrypted File System (EFS)  files

Cause:

Windows Encrypted files are not allowing the Online Backup Manager to access them.

Resolution:

1. Un-Encrypt the affected folders and files by choosing to not encrypt via the file or folder properties.
   
   
2. Exclude these specific files or folders from the backupset.
   
   
3. Use a Pre-Backup command to call NTBackup (where available) to first backup the affected files to a native windows backup file, then backup the .bkf file using the Online Backup Manager.
   
          Example:
          >ntbackup backup C:\data /j "Job Name" /f "C:\backup.bkf"
