Upgrading Offsite Backup Manager (ocBackup Manager)

ocBackup manager can be installed over the top of a previous installation.  It is not recommended to uninstall the previous version prior to installing a newer version.  The newer version of the Backup Manager will identify a previous installation and will invoke the uninstaller itself.  This is important as it will leave behind the user profile and settings.

 

If a user calls the uninstaller, it will ask during the uninstall if it should remove user data and the user will have the choice.  It is usually recommended to leave the user data in place so that the new software can find it.

 

Note:  All account settings, the user profile, and logs are stored in the <user profile>\.obm folder.
